Jordan Hamilton Choice House Executive Director - The Lookout

Jordan Hamilton

Executive Director, Co-Owner

Jordan Hamilton has nearly a decade of experience in the addictions and recovery field. After joining Choice House in 2013 to serve as the director of admissions, he took the helm as executive director for Choice House in July 2017. Today he works to ensure the growth, operational efficiency, and quality control of the Choice House programs.

Before becoming part of the Choice House team, Jordan spent four years as a men’s supervisor at other well-respected residential treatment facilities in Colorado, where he spearheaded admissions and crisis management, as well as performing a multitude of other tasks involved with working with men in early recovery.

A graduate of the University of Colorado, Jordan spends his free time riding motorcycles, snowboarding, running with his dog, and spending time in the Colorado backcountry. He sets an inspirational example for the men in our programs through compassionate leadership.

Tyler studied business administration at Southern Utah University. When he’s not supporting others in their recovery efforts, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family in Northern Colorado, serving at church, traveling, and enjoying the great outdoors: golfing, fly-fishing, hiking, skiing, and cycling.

Jeff Hamilton Choice House

Jeff Hamilton

Co-Owner, CFO

Jeff Hamilton adds a voice to the Choice House team, representing families and caregivers who want to assist in the recovery of loved ones. As a parent providing support to sons who were entangled in the web of addiction, Jeff’s recovery journey is slightly different. His involvement at Choice is the culmination of his experience with addiction recovery from a related support perspective and his belief that there’s not much traffic on the extra mile of helping others.

As an active CPA with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Brigham Young University, Jeff has taken a nontraditional path in the world of public accounting due to his interest in the people side of business. He has served as the CFO of various companies such as Royal Robbins, 5.11 Tactical, Noble Outfitters, Regional Hand Center, and Vecchio Trees.

Jeff is happily married to Karen and together they enjoy many outdoor activities, international humanitarian service, community volunteerism, and family experiences. (And in case you were wondering, Jeff is indeed Jordan’s dad.)

David Huff

Recovery and Transformation Coach

I am a graduate of the University of Colorado (1976) with BA in philosophy. I am a certified Human Potential Coach (2017), as well as an ACC Accredited Coach with the International Coach Federation and certified as a Recovery Coach thru the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy. I am an alcoholic and drug addict and have been continuously clean and sober for over 35 years, during which time I have worked with other addicted persons to help move them towards their own recovery and awakening.

Decades of personal recovery (including 33 years of daily meditation practice) have informed my current belief and experience that transformation/awakening/evolution is possible for anyone and everyone, and that the changes we seek already exist within us. As a coach it is my intention to help facilitate that awareness and change in others. In 2016 I made the decision to move my health and well-being to a new level through a systematic development of Body, Mind, and Power by engaging in Coach Training with the Human Potential Development Institute. This curriculum required 60 units of education and training and 100 hours of Coaching. In 2019 I fulfilled the requirements for accreditation through the International Coach Federation. In 2020 I was certified as a Recovery Coach through a CCAR Recovery Coach Academy and also received certification as a Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher the School of Positive Transformation. When I saw how effective this training was as a change agent in my own life, and how it improved my ability to communicate and work with others, I made the decision to devote more of my time to a career in coaching. I currently have over 130 hours of paid coaching in a private practice. 90% of my clients have been in various stages of recovery from alcohol and/or other addictive substances and behaviors. In addition to Recovery Coaching I have developed a 4-week workshop that I call Meditation 101, and which I am currently taking into three different treatment facilities. Finally, I am pleased to sit on the Board of Directors of a recovery center located in Colorado.

My verbal and written communication skills are excellent and I am well versed in report writing and documentation of activities. I have a strong working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook. I am a compassionate, competent and confidant coach, with a strong grasp of how to effectively work with other addicts. It would be an honor to share my years of experience and education with the clients of your organization.

Activities: Avid snowboarder. Daily yoga practice.
Sincerely,
David Huff

Psychiatric NP

I have been an RN for many years. For 20 years I worked as a therapist after graduating from Naropa University in Boulder. My favorite work as a therapist was with an adolescent treatment center in Lakewood as a family therapist. I have been a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, graduating from New Mexico State University, for the past 13 years. I started out working with Mental Health Partners. I then worked at The Depression Center on the Anschutz campus and am now in private practice. I have been with Choice House for the past 2 years.

While I enjoy private practice working with a team of professionals all with the same goal is inspiring. The men we work with at Choice House never cease to amaze me for different reasons, each being an individual with different gifts, resilience and desire to live their lives in a way that matters to them. I enjoy the work I do as I can help people feel better and prefer working with a person so we can decide together what would be the most helpful for him/her/them.

Outside of work I enjoy hiking and backpacking, cross country skiing and cooking with my husband. Painting is one of the things I enjoy and I plan on taking more classes. I love all animals. Having close friends and family is one of the most important parts of my life and gives me great pleasure. I do believe that each of us does the best we can in every moment. This belief informs my professional and personal life.
