Marijuana Rehab Treatment
Marijuana Treatment Center in Boulder, CO
When addressing the issue of drug addiction, many people tend to dismiss marijuana as a mild substance or non-addictive. With the legalization of marijuana in Colorado, it seems that marijuana use has become increasingly socially acceptable. Many teens, college students and adults have fallen into these beliefs without realizing the harms of marijuana abuse and addiction.
Marijuana is, however, an addictive substance with harmful side effects. The active ingredient in marijuana is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which can cause hallucinogenic effects, damage memory, impair coordination and cognitive ability, and create a number of other health conditions. Furthermore, individuals oftentimes use marijuana to “numb” certain mental issues, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc., but in reality, it oftentimes makes these conditions far worse. Just like with any other addictive substance, it is extremely beneficial for an individual needs a solid drug treatment program to regain a healthy lifestyle.
